Create InfluxDB data sources

The data source input screen opens, in which you can select the InfluxDB as “Type” as the first step.

However, if you first assign a name to the data source and it contains the word “influx“, “InfluxDB” is already preselected as the data source type. (This works with all data source types)

Once this has been done, the data source-specific settings of InfluxDB are automatically adjusted.

InfluxDB Specific

Server: Please enter the address of your InfluxDB server here.

Bucket: Enter a unique name for your data bucket here.

Organization: Please enter the name of your organization to manage access to your data.

API token: Please enter an API token here to access your data.

Measured value: Enter the name of the measurement field here.

Value field: Enter the actual data value of your measurement here.

Tags: You can add individual tags by clicking on “Add tag” . You can also import all tags by clicking on the “Import tags” button.

You can check whether your InfluxDB can be reached by clicking on the “Test connection” button.

The InfluxDB data source is created and subsequently displayed in the data source overview.

Created data sources can be edited or deleted again. You can do this using the corresponding buttons.

You also have the option of displaying all internal data sources.

This works by activating the “Show internal data sources” checkbox.

Here is an example of an InfluxDB data source:

You can find out how to add variables for the InfluxDB data source in the chapter “Adding InfluxDB variables“.
