To be able to assign properties, actions and rules to a control element, the control element that you want to edit must be selected in the Editor workspace (yellow frame). To select all elements on the interface at the same time, select the key combination CTRL + A.
You can now configure the settings in the ‘Properties’ window. To do this, select the ‘Properties’ tab and specify all the properties you want your control to have. These may vary depending on the control.
If you use the search function, you can go directly to the property you want to edit.
It is also possible to determine the “PositionX” and “PositionY“. This allows the elements to be arranged exactly on the surface. “PositionX” and “PositionY” can also be addressed via rules and scripts.
Tip: Always give your control elements a name to make it easier to assign actions and commands to them later. To do this, click on the “…” button in the “Name” line.
Enter the desired name in the “Edit name” window that opens and continue with “OK“.
Set default values for properties
You can set your own default values for properties. This allows you to save frequently used settings directly as defaults and reuse them for new elements.
To do this, right-click on a property header. In the context menu, you can then save the current value as the default value.
There are two options:
Project-wide default value
The default value applies only to the currently open project.
Editor-wide default value
This default value applies generally within the editor and can be used across projects.
Optionally, the saved default values can also be applied directly to existing controls (of the same type), provided that these controls still have the software default value for the relevant property.
This allows recurring settings to be applied more quickly, without having to set them manually for each item.
