Recipes allow you to set several variables to a specific value at the same time.
They describe a collection of variables with different values that are written at the touch of a button. You use recipe management in QuickHMI for this.
Recipes can be created here and used by users who have been assigned the rights to do so in advance.
Click on
“Recipes” in the Project Explorer
Note: You can also start QHMI recipe management as a stand-alone application.
The “Recipe editor” opens. As this was started from the QuickHMI Editor, an export file was loaded automatically.
If the recipe editor is started as a separate application, it must be loaded manually.
To create a new recipe, select “Create“. Then enter a name for the new recipe.

Under “Add recipe entry“, add a new recipe entry. Give it a name and select the data source and variable, as well as the value that the variable should have. Click on “Add recipe entry” again to create multiple entries.
Then click on Save. The memory directory that the QuickHMI Editor accesses to start recipes is opened automatically. After saving, the recipe closes.

If the runtime is executed, the recipe overview can be opened with the chef’s hat symbol. Here you will find the recipe you have created.

If you click on your recipe, all the recipe entries it contains are displayed and can be activated or deactivated separately.
In this example, you have created a recipe with which you can operate 2 machines at the same time. This is a very simple example. In practice, more complex settings are possible.

The selected variables can be set by clicking on“Load recipe“. In this example, this switches the machines on. The variables then receive the status “GOOD”.
User administration
If the user system is activated, the user must have the right to view recipes. This right is called “RECIPE_MANAGEMENT“.
Password protection for recipes
Recipes can also be protected with a password.
To do this, a user must be assigned to the recipe.
You can do this in the recipe editor. To do this, go to “User” and add a new user to the recipe.

In the window that opens, enter a login name and a desired password. Confirm with “Save“.

If you check the“Read only” box when entering the user data, you only authorize the user to read the recipe.

Created users can be activated and deactivated using the arrow buttons. You can use the“Edit user” button to subsequently change the password or edit the read access status. The user can be deleted using the“Delete user” button.
If you want to open the recipe, which is now protected with a password, you will be prompted for a password. The corresponding user can now log in here.
