Alarm variables

Alarm messages

In QuickHMI you can view messages or define alarm variables.

Add alarm variables

It is possible to add an alarm to external variables, internal (global) variables and system variables specific to the data sources.

To create or edit a variable for an alarm variable, select the type of alarm for the variable in the “Alarm type” combo box.

Here you can choose between “Message“, “Warning” and “Error“.

Click on the button that then activates to access the other alarm settings.

Alarm settings

  • Make the alarm variable “Linkable“. This makes it available for rules and actions.
  • Another feature is the option to use“messages” from translation texts. To do this, you can either use the corresponding button

or write“%” before and after the text to use translation texts manually.

  • You can also specify a “location(alarm location). This is simply a text to indicate the location at which the alarm is triggered.
  • Define a“navigation target”. This navigates directly to a component (e.g. a control element) on the interface or to a desired view when the alarm is selected.
  • A sound created under “Audio resources” can be selected to be played when the alarm variable is triggered.
  • Select a created e-mail template that you want to link to the alarm. You can find further information in the article E-mail functions.
  • Determine whether the alarm variable is triggered on “True”, “False” or “Customized”.

If you select “Customized” and click the button to the right of the drop-down field, the conditions window opens. Here you can define the conditions under which the alarm should be triggered.
Several conditions can be combined in groups in order to implement more complex trigger criteria.

Created alarm variables can then be edited, updated and deleted. And they can be used by control elements.

The alarm control element

As of QuickHMI Hawk, there is an alarm control element. This can be placed at the desired position in the editor using drag & drop and functions as a table in which alarms are clearly displayed during runtime.

You will find the control element in the editor under “Displays” with the name “AlarmTable“.

If the runtime is executed, the table is initially empty. If alarms are now received, they are displayed continuously in the alarm table.

Alarms can be filtered and displayed differently in the table and you can set individual color highlighting.

For example, a specific color can be defined for active alarms and one for inactive alarms.

You can also determine how many variables are displayed per table page and integrate a search field into the table.

You can define all of this in advance in the properties of the alarm control.

A detailed description of all element properties can be found in the article “AlarmTable“.

Alarm variables can be filtered and displayed using the“Only display alarm variables” button.
